Wheelchair Service Engineer

Join our dynamic, well-supported and friendly team of mobile Engineers, who carry out wheelchair repairs, adjustments and maintenance to equipment on issue to clients within specific localities in Essex and East London Boroughs.

As a Field Service Engineer you will receive full competency training within 6 months of taking the post. .

Responsibilities:

All duties will be under the supervision of the Team Leader, with support from Operations Manager:

  • carrying out repairs, maintenance, collection, delivery of equipment, planned preventative maintenance to wheelchairs and associated accessories.
  • working with patients, carers, team members, colleagues and the public.
  • As a representative of DGT, upholding and adhering to company standards within the community at all times.
  • Participate in the personal development review process, attending manufacturers’ courses and developing knowledge and skills required for the post.

Previous experience in maintenance, mechanics or engineering is required, along with the ability to work autonomously when out in the field, returning to our Chelmsford base each day. The successful candidate must be able to get along with people, have good communication skills and be clean and tidily presented. A full driving licence is required and appointment will also be subject to DBS check, as you will be working with vulnerable people.

This is a full time post. Working hours are 8am - 5pm, Monday to Friday. The successful candidate will also participate in the on-call rota (with allowance) covering some evenings and weekends. This is shared across the team of engineers.

Mobile phone, uniform, PPE and vehicle are all provided for company use.
